Louis-Pierre-Alphonse de Colbert was the middle and lesser known brother of the cavalry generals from the Colbert family. His younger brother Auguste-Francois-Marie was killed in 1809, and Louis-Pierre-Alphonse fought at Waterloo alongside his older brother Edouard.
